A small bump (break) in the road
Jan 26, 2025
On 23rd August, I faced one of the most challenging moments in my athletic journey - I broke my arm during a softball game. On 31st August, I underwent surgery to have a plate, and screws placed in my arm to repair the damage.
Having to skip the State Championship and representing Brisbane meant I couldn't give my all on the field as I had hoped. Instead, I found myself on the sidelines, missing out on the excitement of the game.
But being an athlete is about more than just the victories and the moments of glory. It's about resilience, determination, and the ability to rise even when life throws curveballs - or in this case, screw balls - your way.
Injuries are part of the game, and while they may set us back, they also offer a unique opportunity to reflect, grow, and come back stronger. This time away from the field is a chance to focus on recovery, mindset, and the mental aspects of the sport. It's a reminder that progress isn't always linear and that every setback is just a setup for a greater comeback.
I'm committed to using this time to heal, improve, and prepare for the challenges ahead. To all my fellow athletes dealing with injuries - stay strong, stay positive, and remember that this is just one chapter in a much larger story. We'll be back, better than ever. See you on the field soon ππͺ
